Spring-Summer Traveling With Your Pet

medical coding training at home.

With spring already here and summer rapidly approaching, many of us are in the process of making travel plans for our summer vacations. Is a trip to a new city in the works? Are you thinking about camping out in the wilderness in one of the country's many beautiful parks or recreation centers? Would it be more fun to visit with close friends or family who live nearby - or to stay at a friend's summer home in New England or a rustic cabin near a lake in the Rockies? Would it be a good idea to rent a beach home? It is an important decision as most of us have so little spare time to simply enjoy life and appreciate Nature and friends. When planning the vacation of our dreams, there are many factors to consider. Obviously, it is important to determine our time frame and budgetary parameters -as well as our accommodations and the mode of transportation that is most affordable especially in these harsh economic times. Careful forethought and planning are the keys to a delightful vacation for our favorite animal companion and us.

For many of us who are planning a getaway, there are many issues to be considered before we leave home. Those of us who have a family pet or pets consider the option of traveling with your furry family members or entrusting them to the care of a house or pet sitter. friend or neighbor or boarding facility- as we determine when and where to go for a fun time away from business as usual. Are we planning on traveling by car, bus or plane? Will we be staying at hotels/motels, the homes of friends or family, or perhaps camping out? Many of these decisions will depend on whether or not we decide to leave Fluffy and Fido at home or whether they share our vacation with us.

Once we have determined our travel destination and the duration of time we will be away from home, we can decide whether or not it is a good idea to take our pet with us. Is our pet accustomed to traveling with us? Has he been on an airplane or train or bus before? Is she accustomed to riding with us in our car? Will it be inconvenient, uncomfortable and/or awkward to take her with us? Will she be allowed and/or welcome at our vacation destination and at hotels/motels/lodging along the way to our destination and back? Do our anticipated accommodations accept/welcome pets? Will the friends/family members we are planning to visit welcome and feel comfortable around our pet? Will your pet feel at ease around them?

Will your pet travel easily and comfortably? If traveling by automobile, it is advisable to have a well-structured and secure travel carrier or crate in which to keep your pet in order to protect your pet from quick, sudden or abrupt stops, road hazards or accidents. The carrier/crate should be comfortable for our pet with plenty of room in which to move around. If we are driving, it is important to make frequent stops (at least every two hours) for an exercise and potty stop. Make sure you have plenty of cool water for your animal. If traveling in warm weather, make certain the heating and air-conditioning in your car are working well. Obviously, it is wise to have your car checked out by a mechanic you trust before undertaking a long trip to make certain it is functioning optimally. Make sure your animal is wearing a collar and license tag with his name and address, and phone number with area code on it. Having your animal microchipped is also a great idea should he ever be lost or stolen. Bring along a photo of your pet in case he is lost while vacationing. Bring along Fido's favorite and familiar toys, accessories and bowls, an extra leash, a blanket or quilt and any other of your pet's favorite possessions. Take along your pet's regular food, treats and medications.

It is also very important that your pet has all required vaccinations and an accurate and current health certificate. It is advisable to bring along her medical records as well.

For so many of us, our pets are not only our best friends and companions, but also true, loyal and beloved family members for whom we are responsible. If we are planning on traveling with them, we owe it to them to make our trip as stress-free, happy and comfortable as possible. Do your homework - make certain that you and your pets will be welcome, healthy and at ease wherever you are planning to stay!

Some Things You Should Consider When Purchasing a Home Security System

medical coding training at home.

As though things weren't hard enough with the economy the way it is, now you have to worry about the increasing threat of home burglaries. As the economy weakens crime rises.

Wireless System: Homes that are not pre- wired will nee a wireless system. The Honeywell wireless system is called the "Lynx." 2- Way Voice compatibility comes standard with the Lynx touch pad . Many homes that have old wired infrastructure may be better suited with a new "Lynx" wireless alarm instead of a wired "Vista" because of potential complications. Wireless systems have many options and upgrades available including wireless monitored fire/ carbon monoxide detectors, key remotes etc.

Pre- wired system: For most home that have been wired within the last 15 or so years a standard wired system will be adequate. If for any reason your wired home is missing a few wires here and there, we will still be able to complete the job with additional wireless sensors and an upgraded RF( radio frequency) Vista touch pad which allows for the addition and monitoring of wireless sensors. Pre- wired systems have many options and upgrades available including wireless monitored fire/ carbon monoxide detectors, key remotes etc.

Wireless System: that provides an increased protection to your home. The Lynx wireless system comes standard with a 2- Way Voice speaker. When your wireless system is installed the technician will connect a phone line to the speaker on the touch pad. When activated this speaker will allow our monitoring center to hear suspicious activity furthering our ability to confirm a break in. When we are able to verify that an intruder is in your home we will then notify the police of the situation. If the alarm has been set off by accident, one of our operators will come over the speaker on the touch pad asking for a verified password which can then be given by speaking directly to the touch pad. The alarm will then be turned off by our central station. Because of the increased ability afforded by 2 Way Voice service we are able to reduce the occurrence of false alarms.

Pet safe motion detectors: We offer a variety of options and can customize a system specifically for your needs. We offer pet safe motion detectors of up to 80lbs. This means that if you have a pet that weighs anything under 80lbs, they can roam free while the motion detector remains armed.

Home owner's insurance discounts: Your home when monitored by a home alarm system will be three times less likely to be broken into than a home without a monitored alarm. Home owner's insurance companies recognize this fact and offer discounts to their customers for installing a monitored alarm system in their home.

Discounted Monitoring: We offer a variety of monitoring services from basic, 2- Way voice to cellular monitoring services. Our monthly monitoring rates are very competitive and start at a little over $1 per day.

First: Burglary

Burglary protection services- Your home will be protected from intruders while you are away as well as when you are at home. a) When you are away from your with your alarm activated, if in the event that someone were to break in, we will then be notified of this through the security system installed in your home. In the case that an intruder sets off the alarm and you have our 2-way voice monitoring service, a trained operator speak through the speaker of the Honeywell panel asking for a password in order to turn the siren off. At this point, the intruder will most likely leave the home. Through the 2- Way speaker, the monitoring company can listen in and hear what is taking place in the home. If the monitoring company can confirm suspicious activity, they will then notify the proper authorities with a confirmed alert. In the event that an alarm is accidentally set off by the home owner, the password can easily be verified over the 2- Way voice speaker with a security representative. b) Your home will be protected from intruders when you are at home at night and your alarm is set to "home" status. This setting, if pushed on the alarm panel will deactivate any and all motion detectors in the home while still arming all doors and any window that have contacts. If an intruder breaks into the home while the alarm is activated on the home setting, they would trigger the alarm and the monitoring company would come over the speaker to confirm a password. If the burglar forces the homeowner to turn off the alarm, a fake code would then be entered informing the alarm company of a hostage situation.

Second: Medical

Medical Response- Your family will enjoy additional peace of mind knowing that your monitoring company also offers medical monitoring services. This channel allows you to summon emergency medical response without possible 911 delays. We also offer monitored medical pendants for the elderly and/or disabled.

Third: Fire

Fire Protection- In the event of a fire, this channel enables you to summon immediate fire response through your security system. Monitored Carbon monoxide and smoke detectors are also available at an additional cost for the detectors. (typically $70 for each detector: there is no extra monthly fee to monitor these detectors) If a monitored fire detector is set off, the monitoring company would immediately notify the fire department.

Some New Job Ideas

medical coding training at home.

This is not an article about new job ideas for those who simply want to do something different for a living. It is about changing our ideas about the meaning of employment. I was inspired to think about this by an article in Time Magazine in March of 2009. It suggested that as a culture we are largely done with our constant concern with real estate value and stock market investments, thanks to the current recession.

No more do people see their rising 401K value as a ticket to early retirement. Nor do they get to tap into their home equity (which has largely vanished) as a way to live beyond what their income allows. According to the article, we are turning towards giving the same attention and nurturing to our employment as we used to those previous sources of wealth.

In fact, the title of the piece was "Why Your Job is Your Most Valuable Asset." It was a bit misleading though, in that what was really pointed to as the valuable asset was not a person's job, but the skills that make jobs an option. That made more sense and got me thinking.

Will people begin to invest in and develop job skills the way they carefully invest in their retirement accounts. Will we start to talk about the "mental equity" we have in the form of experience and training and knowledge? Will enrollment in non-credit job-skill classes rise as workers try to bolster their qualifications for one or more types of work?

Maybe so. Now I personally think that the future will be one with fewer and fewer jobs as more and more people begin to work in their own businesses or as independent contractors. But there will be jobs, and some people will always prefer the consistency of pay and simplicity of working for others. So what can they do to make themselves more employable?

Specialization has its place. If you spend enough years doing computer programming, tax preparation or machine designing you'll have an edge on the competition in those fields. You might even be the only one in town who specializes in preparing tax returns for companies which are based locally but incorporated in other countries.

On the other hand, what if they actually simplify the tax code someday, putting half of the tax preparers in the country out of work? What if computers start programming themselves? Things change, and whole industries die. How would you have liked to be starting a career as a wagon wheel maker in 1905, just as cars started to become popular?

Here's a new job idea that solves this problem to some extent. It comes from a newspaper article I saw on a young man who was trying to work at 52 jobs in 52 weeks. That's the basic idea, by the way. Fresh out of high school or college, perhaps young people should work a few months at several different jobs, just to have the experience and skills for whatever the future brings.

To be more systematic about this, you might choose a couple jobs that are likely to be recession-proof, like being a cook or bar tender, and several that are in a growing area, like retirement home administration or medical fields. With a variety of job skills and experiences you should be able to find work in almost any kind of economy.

Of course you may have noticed that your resume alone doesn't always get you a job. In addition to skills and experiences in specific fields, you might want to develop the skills of getting hired. It may seem a radical suggestion, but what if you obtained and quit seven or eight jobs in a span of a couple months early in your working life? That - in addition to using the good advice in some of the books out there - might make you much more prepared to quickly get a new job if you should ever lose your existing one unexpectedly.

A Few More Job Ideas

- See yourself as a business, with your labor as your product. Think about how to make your customers happier and more likely to keep using your service.

- There are jobs that are meant to provide income, jobs that are meant to train you for a related business, jobs that are actually what you want to do in life, jobs meant to build a resume, and sometimes even jobs that are only about getting to know people who can be useful. Think about what kind of job you are looking for, or what elements each position considered has.

- The benefits that come with jobs are often possible without the job. Tally the true costs of buying your own benefits. Don't take a job that pays $10,000 less each year just because it has health insurance and vacation pay that you can replace yourself for $7,000. Do the math.

Slip and Fall Lawyer For Medical Malpractice

medical coding training at home.

Mistakes can happen everywhere, and medical establishments are no exception. When a person suffers physically, psychologically, and financially from the negligence or error of a health care professional, a medical malpractice lawsuit often ensues. Personal injury lawyers are trained and licensed to handle these types of cases efficiently, since their knowledge and understanding of the medical laws can assist a claim to reach the court systems in a full and timely manner.

They also help the client by educating them on their rights within the system, work with the insurance companies to provide the fairest possible settlement, and council the client as they are made aware of other legal options. Personal injury lawyers are checked and regulated by the state bar associations and their associated codes of conduct.

There are many types of health care-related mistakes that can constitute as medical malpractice, and personal injury lawyers specialize in handling cases involving the injury or death of the patient. Some of these cases include neglect or abuse toward a patient staying in a hospital or nursing home, or infections acquired while being treated in a facility.

Other cases involve surgical accidents resulting in death of the patient or damage to a major organ, and still others involve simple errors, like a patient receiving the wrong medication by the appointed nurse or pharmacist.

Sometimes personal injury lawyers represent people who are involved in a birth-related injury, claiming that the obstetrician did not take the proper measures to ensure a healthy delivery of a fetus, and the safety and protection to the mother.

Others defend people who have suffered improper administration of anesthesia, or patients who have experienced the physical danger and emotional turmoil of being misdiagnosed or failure to be diagnosed of a serious illness involving a major organ.

Occasionally, a medical malpractice case occurs when a patient claims that the doctor or surgeon did not fully and clearly explain the possible dangers, traumas, or risks associated with a procedure that has already been performed on the patient.

Even though consent forms are given and signed by the recipient of medical care, it does not relieve the health care establishment of responsibility; the health care professional should still follow the standards of quality care for the given procedure.

Personal injury lawyers are capable of demanding compensation from these health establishments by navigating their client through the legal system and researching the related laws and issues extensively.
